What's been happening at Mildura International Backpackers this week?
- A rare event has occurred in Mildura - rain. Just enough to be annoying, mess with work and make the place muddy and dirty. Not enough to do any good at this time of year. There has been lots of backpackers sitting around trying to work out how to fill their day.
- After the excitement of entering our beer can extravaganza float in the MIldura Mardi Gras Parade we are left with a broken mess on the lawn out the back. The wind blew and it collapsed and our level of enthusiasm for dismantling it is much less than for it's creation. Oh well, a couple more days of not much work activity and people will be screaming for something to do.
- 11 of us went to the 'Concert in a Tin Shed' which was the re-arranged 'Concert Under the Stars' event, transferred from the magical setting of Perry Sandhills to the Clyne Packing Shed at Coomealla.
- We saw 4 great bands including the major act, Kasey Chambers. Along with 2000 other people, John and Ian, Lianne, Mel, Karen, Vincent, Chen, Pin, Ko, Risa and Marco enjoyed food, wine and each others company whilst people-watching and listening to the music. Chen, Ko, Vincent and Pin wore out their cameras early in the evening. We had 8 tickets to give away - another perk of staying at MIB. "You are the captain, I am no-one ...." Go Kasey, we love you.
- Sam thought she had been bitten by a spider but it turned out to be a splinter.
- Our washing machine is temporarily out of order - well, its been a slow news week.
